Install

Installation (Windows, Linux, macOS)

Same DTCO Tkinter GUI on all platforms. Windows includes bundled Funbit telemetry; Linux/macOS point Settings at a telemetry JSON URL.

Windows

1-click installer

  1. Run the DTCO setup .exe
  2. Launch the overlay (Funbit can auto-start)
  3. F3 → install telemetry plugin into ETS2/ATS if needed
  4. Activate (F8 / web) when prompted
Linux

Python or AppImage

  1. Install python3 + python3-tk, Pillow, requests
  2. Run python3 vdo_tach_overlay.py (or AppImage when published)
  3. F3 → set telemetry URL (Funbit on Windows/Proton, or compatible JSON)
  4. Activate as on Windows
macOS

Python or .app

  1. Python from python.org / Homebrew with Tk support
  2. Run python3 vdo_tach_overlay.py (or .app when published)
  3. F3 → telemetry URL (ETS2 on Mac is limited; often a remote/Windows feed)
  4. Activate as on Windows

Auto-updates (all platforms)

When a new version is published in the admin Updates panel, the overlay shows Update available → Update now. It downloads the package for your OS and restarts. Admins publish one release with Windows, Linux, and macOS URLs together from Updates.
